Learning Flash

Tuesday, July 12, 2011 with no comments

For my photography friends out there… I am biting the bullet and learning how to use on-camera flash, hopefully once I find a decently priced used Speedlite (the 430ex ii is what I’m aiming for). I am hoping to shoot my cousin’s wedding reception in September (for free of course, I’m no professional!), and since it’s inside, I know I’ll be useless without a flash (and the onboard flash sucks)… so I asked for advice, and Crystal recommended the speedlite and Katie referred this book to me: On-Camera Flash by Neil van Niekerk. The book arrives on Thursday, and I can’t wait to read it! My weak point has always been focus in low lighting (well, focus in general, but low lighting especially)… here’s hoping this book and the speedlite help with that! Now to find a decent used one, that won’t break my bank… if you know anyone getting rid of one, let me know!! :)
